About Me

Rob Weingeist, DACM, L.Ac.
Robert McGregor Weingeist is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine (DACM) at Clinic Eight. An Iowa City native and City High School graduate, he earned a degree in creative writing before pursuing his medical career. He graduated from the Pacific College of Health and Science in 2008 and completed his doctorate in 2017.
Rob has treated patients in private practice since 2008. He blends classical Chinese medicine with a modern, evidence based approach. His work as a certified ophthalmic assistant at the University of Iowa eye clinic provides him with a unique perspective on dry eye and vision support.
Patients appreciate his clear communication and practical lifestyle guidance. Outside of the clinic, Rob is an avid tennis player and has practiced Wing Chun since 2002.
