    Rob Weingeist, DACM, L.Ac.

Robert McGregor Weingeist is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine (DACM) at Clinic Eight.

I am an Iowa City native, and 1998 graduate of City High. I attended The University of Puget Sound for my Bachelors degree in English, and played #1 on the varsity tennis team.

I completed a four year post-graduate Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Chicago’s Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. In 2008 I moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts to begin my acupuncture practice.

There I began studying Pin Sun Wing Chun Kung Fu and Yang Shen Qigong Meditation with Sifu Jim Roselando. I also became a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and have assisted internationally respected eye surgeons at Tufts University, and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

I currently enjoy spending part of my week assisting the world class ophthalmologists at the University of Iowa River Landing.

In addition to being recognized by the NCCAOM as an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine, I have been licensed by the Iowa Board of Medicine to practice acupuncture since 2014.

With my experience in western medical practices (and growing up in a family of ophthalmologists), I believe an integrative approach to healing is often most effective.

I am the founder of Clinic Eight in downtown Iowa City and am now treating patients within the famous Bella Vita Chiropractic and Wellness center on the east side.

"Rob’s clinical approach is exactly what I was looking for. He explained the science behind the treatment and I felt significant relief from my chronic pain after just a few sessions. Highly recommended for anyone in Iowa City."
