Rob McGregor Weingeist, DACM

An Eye for Excellence

As an Iowa City native and a graduate of City High, my local roots are deep, but I’m very proud of my global expertise. I earned the title Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM), a degree that reflects nearly two decades of rigorous training, seeking esoteric wisdom, and a refusal to settle for anything less than clinical excellence.

Medicine and artistry are in my DNA. I come from a family defined by precision and vision. My grandfather, my father, and my older brother are all accomplished eye surgeons. My family is also filled with artists who see the world through a lens of detail and creativity. This dual heritage of surgical precision and artistic excellence is what I strive to bring to my patients at Clinic Eight.

A Legacy of Vision at University of Iowa

What sets my practice apart is my ongoing immersion in the highest levels of modern medicine. For part of each week, I work within the world-class Ophthalmology department at the University of Iowa. This is more than just a work place for me; it is a point of immense pride. My father served as the head of the department, and assisting some of the most accomplished ophthalmologists in the world gives me a unique perspective on patient care.

This experience grants me an unparalleled understanding of vision, and eye health. I am one of the few practitioners who can bridge the gap between traditional Chinese medicine and the cutting-edge, evidence-based care provided at a top-tier medical institution.
